The Artists

Bronwen+Evans+Art.jpg

BronWen Evans

Bronwen was born and raised in Zimbabwe and her career has taken her from textile design to interior design to art collector and curator, to art teacher, most recently to starting and curating contemporary-african-art.com, and all while creating her own art along the way.

She's also a long time family friend and has kindly shared some of her time to create some pieces for our first online auction for the Level Up Exhibition.

Just back from an artist's retreat in Aspen, Colorado at the beginning of this year, BC (Before Corona), Bronwen's current work explores the freedom of paint throwing while still integrating fine detailing to create a unique visual effect that is engaging from near and afar. She's brought this method into her Zimbowtie art and the effect is stunning.

Farai Wallace

Farai was also born and raised in Zimbabwe and is a graphic designer, an illustrator, a product designer and she runs a beautiful gift shop in Victoria Falls where you can find her gorgeous products and a selection of Zimbowties.

Farai's eye-catching illustrations caught my attention on Instagram and I reached out to her to see if she'd take part in our experimental Level Up Exhibition which she kindly took on despite having a million other things on her plate.

Farai's illustrations are inspired by her time spent living in different cities in Africa and in the African bush, studying the natural world and its intricate eco-systems and she has brought this into her Zimbowtie wearable art that she's created for us.

Keegan Jones

Keegan, our third artist, was also born and raised in Zimbabwe, and is a professional art dealer, a graphic designer, and an artist. Keegan actually received some of his formal art instruction from Bronwen Evans while a student at Hillcrest College in Mutare. His current work explores experimentation in colour and form and he brings this into the Zimbowtie art he created for us.

Keegan is a friend and was an early supporter and contributor to our work at the Zimbowties, giving us valuable input on our packaging and quality, and we really appreciate him helping us out again by creating some pieces for our Level Up Exhibition.
